This proposal for a new community linking the existing towns of Bjärred and Borgeby was focused on creating a unique urbanity closely rooted in the agricultural traditions of the area and its vernacular ways of inhabiting the landscape. Since these older traditions are often based on sustainable principles, the next step was to integrate modern, systematic thinking and new technologies in order to create a more complete, ecologically sound place that felt at home in the rich soil of southwestern Sweden.
