At the foot of the slope of Hammarbybacken, a popular winter sports area where many Stockholmers have learned to ski, will soon be built a new environmentally-friendly pumping station for district heating. The building, which works as a berm integrated in the hillside, doubles its function by acting as an entrance for visitors to the nature reserve, Nackareservatet, and creates a generous seating bench by means of its articulated façade of rustic timber.
